Door Knob
How do I tighten a loose door knob?
i see the screws "inside" b/c the knob is loose from the wall...but I do not see how to get to those screws to tight the door knob.
help?
i know, but how do i get to the screws??
the knob is attached to the door....i can see down the space btw the door and the know, but not to actually screw the screws in.
Check out the interior knob, chances are there is a tiny hard to see button (usually small recutangular thing that you'll need a small straight screw driver to push) that will release the KNOB. Slide it off the the escutcheon (shiny plate one the door, will come off, then you well see two screws going through a rather utilitarian looking plate, tighten those and re-assemble . . .
OR
Its an old-fashioned norwalk spindle knob, if so, loosen the set screw(s) on the knob(s), tighten the knobs against one another, reset the set screws and voila'
