Nursery Wall Decals: Better than Paint
Painting the walls of your nursery blue or pink may be traditional, but it can also be rather boring. And your baby's nursery should never be boring. It should be a representation of your style and all the future happiness of watching your baby grow, laugh, and learn. You can choose images, quotes, or just shapes to make your nursery as uniquely beautiful as your baby. Nursery decals will make a solid colored wall pop, and make it look like you hired a decorator.
The decals are made of a durable vinyl and are amazingly easy to apply. If you follow the step by step instructions you will love the results. If a squeegee is used you are nearly guaranteed to get a smooth finish that looks as if the decal is actually painted onto the wall. But for large decals it would be a good idea to make it a two person job.
There is no reason why if you're renting you can't still decorate your baby's nursery walls. Painting is a lot of hard work, and the fumes aren't great for you or the baby. Plus as much as you might be tempted to paint anyway you'll regret losing your security deposit. On the other hand nursery decals can be removed when you move with no damage to the walls. Even if the walls of your home are white there are so many wonderful decals that you can use to change the room.
Custom nursery decals are an option if you have a particular phrase or piece of artwork that you would like to adorn your nursery walls. Phrases or quotes make for an especially original addition to the décor of the nursery. Fortunately the decals come in complete words or short sentences, because it would take a long time to adhere the letters one at a time. And if you don't want a full phrase you can put a decal of your baby's name. You spent a long time deciding on a name, why not put it on their wall?
Once you've chosen a theme or an idea for the nursery, you can be certain there is a nursery decal that will make it come to life. Birds can fly across the walls and disappear behind fluffy clouds. Or your future Hall of Famer can have balls and bats over his crib. And when your little one gets a little bigger you can take the decals off the wall and choose new ones. While you may want to decorate the nursery in animals, your two year old may ask to have his or her walls covered in trains or cars.
If you've ever flipped through a magazine and wondered how they did something, the answer is likely decals. They are unexpected and fun and look terribly expensive although they're less costly than painting. Remember where you bought your nursery wall decals, because your friends and family will want to steal your idea. And keep track of everyone who compliments the way you've decorated your nursery, because decals will make great gifts at future baby showers.
