Pet Plush Toys - Preserving a Memory
Ever had lots of pet plush toys which are stuffed with memories? Memories that are really from your favorite pet that you want to keep for a long period? Once, while I was viewing the first episode of the TV series Vampire Diaries, this one line got my attention. To make it more clear it goes something like this; "Memories are important". Seems uncomplicated doesn't it? However the significance is not simple.
One sure thing which is going to happen with pet plush toys is that they'll be ripped by your pet. And because of my love for my pet, I preserve the toys which offered my pet an amount of joy, and also gave a substantial amount stress to my pet. Mind you, I own a pet dog.
So for each one of you that cherish the memories of your beloved pet, here are a few suggestions concerning how to preserve the plush toys they frequently play with.
To begin with, let us discuss the standard kind of injury a dearly loved plush toy can have. This is the easiest repair you can do even if you are not a seamstress. For ripped seams, a thick or strong needle is desirable for big pet plush toys and a thinner needle for smaller ones.
It's best to stitch the seams together again using a clear polyester thread that has a knot at the end. Very carefully push the threaded needle until the inside of the rip to ensure that your knot won't appear on the exterior. Carefully stick to these specific guidelines, pull the needle through 1 side of the tear and back until the other side; pull on your needle so that the two sides come together. Continue on this until the hole is closed and tie off the residual thread as close to the plush animal as possible. Take note, that if your plush toy is the furry type, comb through the fur to conceal the stitches. Also make sure to push any overflowing stuffing back into the toy at the same time as sewing.
Allow me to return to the furry plush toys. It is advisable to brush the matted or clumpy fur with a wire brush. Do it with a mild motion. You may also put the plush toy in the dryer on low setting for 4 to 5 minutes to re-fluff.
On a second note, one more condition which a plush toy could be, after doing war together with your pet, is losing stuffing. Try to find the material just like the original content of the plush toy. Replace or add new stuffing to the plush toy, it's also possible to restore the chubbiness once the stuffing goes flat or clumps up. And here are the guidelines. Untie a side seam and add polyester fill, fluff or any filling material then very carefully stitch it back up once more.
The skill of replacing stuffing may also be carried out to take away the toxic contents of the plush toy. On the grounds that several old stuffed animals will tend to be full of toxic foam or plastics.
Last but not least, another thing that cannot be prevented is when a large patch of plush is removed out of your pet's memorable plush toy. In case you can't have the original materials for the plush toy's body, search for the nearest looking fabric to fix the patch.
